Lungo gli acciottolati delle vie medioevali nella cittadina di Beaune, tra gli antichi palazzi, l’atmosfera talora è sospesa, ma ovunque si percepisce lo scorrere di un racconto antico ma tuttora attuale: il protagonista indiscusso di questo racconto è il vino. Anche l’architettura della città risente della ricca storia vitivinicola della città. Elementi come dimore storiche legate alle attività vinicole rispecchiano l’importanza economica del vino attraverso la presenza di elementi di pregio come le case dei commercianti e la disposizione urbanistica delle vie, che facilitava il trasporto e lo stoccaggio del vino.

Along the cobblestones of the medieval streets of the town of Beaune, amidst the ancient buildings, the atmosphere is sometimes suspended, but everywhere one senses the unfolding of an ancient yet still relevant tale: the undisputed protagonist of this tale is wine. Even the city’s architecture reflects the city’s rich winemaking history. Elements such as historic homes linked to winemaking activities reflect the economic importance of wine through the presence of valuable features such as merchants’ homes and the urban layout of the streets, which facilitated the transportation and storage of wine.
