Luce bianca
Ho realizzato questo lavoro presso il Champalimaud Center for the Unknown, progettato dall’architetto Charles Correa.
Questo complesso di edifici costituisce un centro di ricerca e diagnostica e sorge a Lisbona presso Alges, non lontano dal monumento a Colombo.
Correa dice: “Ciò che mi rende più orgoglioso di questo progetto è che NON è un Museo di Arte Moderna. Al contrario, utilizza i più alti livelli della scienza e della medicina contemporanee per aiutare le persone alle prese con problemi reali; cancro, danni cerebrali e diventare ciechi. E per ospitare queste attività all’avanguardia, abbiamo cercato di creare un pezzo di architettura. Architettura come scultura. Architettura come bellezza. La bellezza come terapia”
Abbacinante luce bianca che accompagna i miei passi risonanti nel silenzioso azzurro.
Solo la mente avverte un ronzio sordo: computer, apparecchiature medicali e di laboratorio scolpiscono la luminosa bellezza del prendersi cura del futuro della vita umana, minuto dopo minuto. Incessantemente.

Dazzling light
This work was created by me at the Champalimaud Center for the Unknown, designed by architect Charles Correa.
This complex of buildings is a research and diagnostics center and is located in Lisbon near Alges, not far from the Columbus monument.
Correa says: “What makes me most proud of this project is that it is NOT a Museum of Modern Art. Instead, it uses the highest levels of contemporary science and medicine to help people grappling with real problems; cancer, brain damage and going blind. And to house these cutting-edge activities, we have tried to create a piece of architecture. Architecture as sculpture. Architecture as beauty. Beauty as therapy.
Dazzling white light that accompanies my resounding steps in the silent blue.
Only the mind hears a dull hum: computers, medical and laboratory equipment sculpt the luminous beauty of taking care of the future of human life, minute by minute. Incessantly.
