Che cosa dovrebbero fare i tuoi figli, Venezia?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Possiamo dire di aver fatto qualcosa in questi ultimi due secoli per modificare significativamente il rischio di scomparsa di Venezia che l’Ode su Venezia scritta da Lord Byron nell’ormai lontano 1819 gi\u00e0 preannunciava con visionaria lucidit\u00e0?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh Venezia! Venezia! allorch\u00e8 le tue mura di marino<\/p>\n\n\n\n

saran crollate al livello delle tue onde,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

il grido delle nazioni si innalzer\u00e0 sulle ruine de’ tuoi palagi,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

e sulle sponde del mar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

commosso vi sar\u00e0 un gran lamento!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Se io, pellegrino del Nord, lagrimo su di te, che debbono fare i figli tuoi?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tutto fuori che lagrimare;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

e nondimeno essi non mormorano che fra i loro sonni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tanto diversi sono costoro dai loro padri, quanto lo \u00e8 il verde limo<\/p>\n\n\n\n

che lascia l’oceano ritirandosi dalla spuma dell’onda impetuosa<\/p>\n\n\n\n

che caccia il marinaio alla proda senza naviglio;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ed \u00e8 cos\u00ec che si trascinano vilmente come rettili per le loro strade in ruina…..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In ottobre 2022 ha ricevuto una Honorable Mention da Monovisions Photography Awards<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What should thy sons do, Venice?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can we say that we have done something in the last two centuries to significantly modify the risk of Venice’s disappearance that the Ode on Venice written by Lord Byron in the now distant 1819 already foretold with visionary lucidity?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Oh Venice! Venice! when thy marble walls<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2060Are level with the waters, there shall be<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A cry of nations o’er thy sunken halls,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2060A loud lament along the sweeping sea!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I, a northern wanderer, weep for thee,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What should thy sons do?  anything but weep:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And yet they only murmur in their sleep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In contrast with their fathers as the slime,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dull green ooze of the receding deep,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is with the dashing of the spring tide foam,\u2060<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That drives the sailor shipless to his home,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are they to those that were; and thus they creep, Crouching and crab-like, through their sapping streets…..<\/p>\n\n\n\n
